1. What MoodFlix is

MoodFlix is a movie and show discovery tool. You describe a mood or a vague idea in your own words, and MoodFlix returns a small shortlist of titles that may fit, together with services in your region that currently carry them. MoodFlix does not host, stream, re-upload, or provide access to copyrighted content, and it does not link to pirated sources.

2. No account, by design

MoodFlix does not require an account, a profile, an email address, or a phone number. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log in to.

3. Information MoodFlix processes

To fulfil a request, the following limited information is processed:

• The mood text you type. It is sent to the MoodFlix backend and passed to an AI interpretation provider so that MoodFlix can understand your request and turn it into useful search terms.
• A random, anonymous installation identifier. This is used only to apply fair usage limits and to keep one user's request from blocking another user's. It cannot be tied to your identity.
• Basic technical details. IP address, approximate device and request metadata, and timing data, used for rate limiting, security, and operational stability.

4. How the information is used

Your mood text is used exclusively to build the recommendation that you asked for. The shortlist and watch-provider data are assembled from catalog and availability partners (such as TMDB and Watchmode). Mood text is not sold, not marketed against, and is not joined to any profile of you.

5. Third parties involved

To operate, MoodFlix works with a small set of service providers: AI interpretation providers (OpenRouter, Google Gemini, and Groq are used as fallbacks), catalog data providers (TMDB), and availability providers (Watchmode). Each receives only the data needed for its narrow job. MoodFlix does not permit these providers to sell the data or use your mood text to build profiles of you.

6. Retention

Request logs and caches are stored for as short a time as operationally reasonable so that results load quickly and fairly for everyone. Mood text is not kept indefinitely. Where a request is cached, it is cached for the purpose of faster repeat results, not for profiling.

7. Children

MoodFlix is not directed at children under the age of 13, and MoodFlix does not knowingly process personal information of children under 13. If you believe a child has used the service with personal data, contact us via the website below.

8. Security

MoodFlix uses industry-standard transport security, rate limiting, and key management. Keys and secrets never appear on the client side and are never exposed through the app.

9. Your choices

Because MoodFlix keeps almost nothing about you, most privacy rights are satisfied by the design itself. You can always stop using the app and uninstall it. If you have a specific request or concern, reach out through the contact information on the MoodFlix website.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version with a new "last updated" date will be published here. Major changes will be highlighted in the app release notes.
